As dawn broke on the 27/01 the members of Andover hockey club's men's 2nd team knew they needed to rebound from two crushing defeats on the return from Christmas. The late 2:15 start gave the players a morning of anticipation and preparation, knowing the fate of the season was resting on their performance. As the players walked out onto the rain soaked pitch spirits were high, thanks to an invigorating team talk from captain Guy Sleeman-Hiscock. Mark Frosty was heard saying "1...2...3...ANDOVER" moments before pushback. The game itself was generally uninteresting, however there were enough comedy moments including but not limited to Frosty missing the ball completely in a one on one with the keeper and Guy getting sent off because, at the age of 40, he can't control his temper. The game finished 1-1 thanks to Frosty's last minute equaliser. Then we all went back to the pub and celebrated Jack Fish's birthday. As always a thanks to our volunteer umpires that make the game possible.
