Scoreline belies the challenge and effort

Another great performance by the Andover U14 Boys saw them deliver a decisive victory over Basingstoke, but the over whelming score belied the effort of the team who fought hard and defended well to keep the score sheet clean despite some very determined assaults by the Basingstoke Boys.

The game started exceptionally with Andover putting 2 goals past the Basingstoke keeper in the first 3 minutes, but this just severed as a wake up call as Basingstoke rallied and fought back. Despite this Andover finished the first half leading 4-0.

The second half saw some much better teamwork with the ball being moved around as the Andover Boys grew in confidence and passed in preference to trying to run it at the opposition and the scoreline reflected the better team work as Andover put a further 7 goals past the seriously over worked Basingstoke keeper.

Mention must also be made of the defensive efforts of all the Andover players who all put in their best effort to ensure that Basingstoke did not get any goals back.

All in all an a fabulous effort across the board.
