Great show of how to play hockey

The boys put on a great show of how you play hockey today in what was a fantastic team effort with loads of wonderful passing to team mates and in to space for players to run on to showing just how far the boys have come on as a team this season. Jonah opened the score after 7 minutes and this was followed up by Eric 6 minutes later. Unfortunately following the early lead the boys dropped their guard and Yateley surged back from the push back to immediately score the other end taking it to 2-1. The rest of the first half was then a goal fest for Eric who put a further 3 in to the back of the goal with Jonah also adding to his tally.

The second half was very like the first with two goals from Jonah , two from Oli and one from Kieran earning him a tenner from him mum.

The score belies the ease of the game as Yateley put up a really solid performance providing a real challenge, but were beaten by the open passing play from the Andover boys in what was the best hockey they all have played this season. Comments from those who have not seen the team play for a while highlighted the maturity of the players and the massive growth in confidence both on the ball and in the tackling and in their ability to read the flow of play and spot their team mates.

Really well done boys. I was really proud of how you all played.
