U14 Boys on a roll

After a 3rd straight league win against leaders Camberley & Farnborough a couple of weeks ago, the 2nd top team was the next challenge for the boys to push on up the league to a more deserving position for the club. Similar to Camberley, Aldershot hadn’t lost a game so far this season and only conceded a measly 4 goals, the best in the league.
From the first whistle, the boys showed they were well up for the challenge and this showed even before then with good concentration and energy at the warm up of which most of the players had turned up early! Super keen!
Despite Aldershot's league position, this didn’t stop the boys putting in a sparkling performance which saw them 5-0 up at the end of the 1st half, with the midfield controlling and passing the ball well and defence quashing any of Aldershot's attempts on goal.
The 2nd half continued to see the same energy at the start but with Aldershot bolstering up and having more of a go at the defence, the goal tally of a further 7 for Andover in the 2nd half doesn’t tell the full story of how hard Lewis and the defence made sure the guys gained a 3rd clean sheet this season.
All in all, another stonking performance from the guys that even surpasses their ‘epic’ win over Camberley.
Special mention to the defence that stayed focus and strong, to the substitutes that fitted seamlessly into the game and the unselfish play that was seen from a number of players getting into the D, passing to another player to score rather than trying to go it alone. Fantastic teamwork and all of you and your parents should be proud of your achievements so far this season.
