Andover 5 - 1 Addiscombe

For a second week in a row Andover started the game on the front foot, pressing high up the pitch and forcing their opposition into mistakes. A number of chances came and went for Andover strikers early on in the game, however an early goal came once again this time for Olly Bridge who after some neat interplay between Haydn Sorenson and Sam Goacher, put Bridge through into the D to Reverse hit the ball into the roof of the net at a narrow angle. With Andover on the front foot and dominating possession, a sloppy mistake allowed Addiscombe back into the game which gave them the belief that they could get something out of the game. A tough remaining 15 minutes of the half for Andover slightly holding on at times, with Addiscombe putting the defence James Pawley and Haydn Sorenson under lots of pressure half time came at the correct time for the whole squad. Some stern words at half time from Jamie Hacker and Andy Bridge and a few positional changes Andover started the second half as they started the first squeezing Addiscombe right from the off. With George Allmark stepping into the defence and Captain James Pawley slotting into midfield, this seemed to work instantly and the intricate passing started some flowing hockey throughout the squad. This hockey allowed Mark Frost to break down the right hand side of midfield winning a foul and some quick thinking from James Pawley firing the ball into Jamie Hacker who neatly deflected the ball first time into Dan Allen who slotted the ball home past the keeper. Not long after the second goal had gone in Andover had found their third through Jamie Hacker when Liam O'Sullivan and Alex Griffiths combined to create space for Hacker on the left side of the D and the fire the ball into the top left of the goal. With Andover completely dominatng the game now Addiscombe's discipline played into Andover hands and then from the next short corner, James Pawley took control at the top of the D and buried his drag flick into the side netting of the goal. Andover were not done yet and when Conor Baverstock made a fine save from a rare break from the Addiscombe attackers, Andover midfielders were quick to react and get straight up the opposite end of the pitch, Harry Trott, Ivan Daley and Ben Evans then managed to win another short corner and consequently Andover grabbed the final goal of the game when George Allmark pounced on the rebound from the keeper poking home from close range. Andover have another tough game coming up this weekend vs Hamble but look forward to the fixture and hopefully grabbing another 3 points.
