Andover u14 boys lost at home to Winchester in the quarter finals of the Hampshire Cup on Sunday. This was a gutsy effort for the boys against a powerful Winchester side that moved the ball quickly and with skill. For their part, Andover played well with strong performances at the back, notably from Tom Duffield and Jake Chadd. In goal, Archie Stepney made some fantastic saves and spared the home side's blushes on a number of occasions.
In midfield and attack there were some good performances, in particular from Rory Glover, Harry Cowan and William Taverner, who managed to string together some quality passing moves that threatened the Winchester goal. In the end though Andover were beaten by the better side on the day. Well done boys, don't lose heart - onwards and upwards to our next game against Basingstoke.
