Andover u14 boys lost away at Fleet and Ewshot by three goals to two in a game that was played in good spirits and warm sunshine. Andover were short handed for this week but were ably supported by four players stepping up from the u12s, and it was the u12s that were to end up on the scoresheet.
Andover scored first at the start of the match with a fine move through William Taverner that was finished off by Alex Birmingham. This was an end to end game though and Fleet were soon back in the match, despite some great work in defence where Freddie Walkom was once more a reliable rock in the Andover goal.
Shortly after half time, Andover were back in the lead when Peter Thomson crossed to Hari Putt to score. This was always a game that could have gone either way though, and Fleet came back into it with first an equaliser and then with the heartbreaking winning goal. The away side continued to knock on the door though and were only denied by a couple of fine saves by the Fleet goal keeper in the final 5 minutes.
