Leaving Andover early Sunday morning the rain had cleared and the sun was shining and hope were high. That all changed by the time we arrive at the seaside. For a good 20 minutes as the boys warmed up the heavens opened and it was like the fire brigade where hosing us all down. Luckily this cleared as we started the game, but the rain had had its affect with the boys not firing on all cylinders.
The first session was a very lack lustre period with the boys just not finding their feet. As the game progressed it looked like the match was going to be very close as each goal Andover scored Gosport clawed one back. As the weather improved and the boys dried out and the coaches rockets in the break started to light, the boys upped their game and took the match away from Gosport in the second half of the second period and sealed the game early in the third period, ruthlessly slotting some great goals in to the back of the net.
I would not describe it as one of our best performances from the boys, as it felt a little bit like watching the England Rugby team playing Italy, but the grit and determination showed through and the result exceeded expectations. Well done everyone.
