Alton 3 v Andover 3

Andover 3 travelled to Alton for their first away game of the season with quite a few changes in the squad due too player availability but the club rallied together and put out a squad of 13 which included two players making there first appearances for the M3 and one breaking into Mens Hockey.
Andover produced a solid first half with great communication amongst the players with Sion Roberts putting in a commanding performance in the defence. Andover had several opportunities to score but failed to take their chances. Andover Keeper Dan Brazilian was called upon on two or three occasions but remained poker faced. The first half end goalless.

Second half got under way and Andover failed to clear there lines and the Alton striker managed to lift ball into the roof of the net over the flaying Brazilian. Andover continued to push for the equaliser but could not find their way through a solid Alton defence who threw everything at the Andover attackers even their sticks. Andover's response was rapid and the Alton defenders stick cleared the fence and ended 20ft up a tree. Both player left the pitch at the umpires request where they shook hands and sat the rest of the game out Alton took the game a with a 1-0 victory.
Lots of promising signs from the Men's 3 and it wont belong before they enjoy the sweet smell of success.
