M3 's start the new year with a win to keep on track with their promotion chase

Andover travelled to Winchester looking to settle a score from the corresponding fixture in 1st half of the season. Man Flu had taken its toll on the squad so the Three's had to call on some real Men from the Vets. Andover started brightly and played some good hockey in spells as they continue to work on there short game. About mid way through the first half one of the real men aka Sniffer John Priestly Cooper stepped up to stoke the ball home for close range. Andover took this lead into break after some good defending with Rob Eldrige returning back to form after a lay off with injury.

Second period Andover came under some early pressure with the young Winchester side showing some good ball skills. It was not along until this paid off for the home side as they managed to score and equaliser. At this point in past Andover may have buckled but the team show great resolve and continued to play and push for a winner. With about 10 minitues to go Men's 3's Manager consulted Andovers Directors of hockey the May Brother's and it was agreed we would take of Jonah Graham off as he had run his legs off all afternoon and bring on the Manager in an aim to give more width in the attack.

This paid off with Seven minute to go a through ball was threaded through and with the cry's from fans of run Forest, Russ Hemming chased after a ball which the Winchester team thought was a lost call and managed to keep it in. He then gathered himself to calmly lay the ball back to the big Man Sam Ricahrds who squared it to Hoey for him to take a shot at the top of the D. Then stepped up Andovers Ninja Tom Lee who did one of his signature barrel rolls to stroke the Ball home to take his tally to 5 for the season. Andover held out for the last seven minutes to complete a fine win.

Big thanks to everyone who played their part today and to Deep Heat for letting my legs move that fast its been a while
