Andover set off in the new year with the usual lack of readiness and conceded quickly, but bounced back in quick fashion with a great combination play from Fish and Rochester to equal the score.
With wind in their sails they quickly scored again with Rochester and Fish.
25 minutes in Russell Hemming at 40 something scored his first ever goal in hockey and celebrated wildly!! A strong defensive display kept the attackers out of shooting range and the ball going forward and
Just a few minutes after the halftime Russ was involved with setting up Rochester again for his second goal. A fine solo run from Hodgson with a square pass to Rochester again scored his hat-trick. The two players linked up again with a first time strike for Hodgson at the top of the D to make it 7-1. Final 7 minutes saw andover concede 2 goals against the run of play. Final score 7-3.
