Andover III travelled to Romsey to take on the second-placed team who'd been having no trouble putting away goals at home. Andover spent most of the game defending against a constant Romsey attack yet the home side only managed to get the better of the visitors once before half time.
In the second half, Andover continued to soak up the pressure until Romsey finally got a second goal, and a third one before the end.
In a league as close as this one goal difference could be crucial and, against a side who have been dispatching visiting teams by 4 or 5 goals at home, Andover may well look back on this defeat as a worthy and important effort.
