Tough Gig

We had a very tough gig in some not very nice weather this weekend, but the girls dug in and other than a priod of about 15 minutes towards the end of the first half, during which we were unlucky to lose two goals in quick succession at short corners, the girls did exceptionally well against a very skilled and strong opposition.

For the first 20 minutes the girls looked majestic with both teams scorig twice, before a bloody nose for Polly and some substituions and posuition changes saw us loose shape for a few minutes as the girls settled in, which Haslemere were quick to capitalise on. 4-2 at half time but all to play for the girls came out fired up and played a great second half. Unfortunately we could not break the deadlock as the Haslemere girls rounded in hard and determinedly on our probing attacks.

Haslemere admitted they loaded the team with strong players this match as they had not expected Andover to be so strong - so a back handed compliment but shows how well you are all doing as a team and how surprised many much bigger clubs are at seeing how you perform. So well done and keep up the great work.
