Andover match for Fareham

Now the clocks have turned back, yes, Hugo Gryphon-Grays has returned to provide a commentary for the boys U14. Brief commentary though, as I am feeling rather sleepy now, nothing to do with celebrations with Ruby beer (whoever she is) post match I promise you!

The team adapted well to a change of formation - 3-4-3 - and it certainly paid off. As did changing positions for a number of boys, which is not easy - defenders becoming centre forwards. From the off it was clear the boys had turned up eager to make a point. With three mins Andover were one up. They kept width, put into action the new training techniques for 16s, played quick ball from free hits and attacked the D in numbers. Fareham is no easy team and they too didnt give up. As tired legs kicked in, and with huge skill they also scored, although two goals came close to the end.

Altogether six players scored, two hatricks + achieved, one kept goal brilliiantly, and 14 players played as a real squad, defending in pairs, Attacking in numbers showing individual flair, skill and commitment in bucket loads and held tight as the end approached.
Well done Lewis, Alex, George, Tomo, Ed, Olly, Angus, Jonah, Zac, Toby, Charlie, Tom (Beast), Jamie and Henry, great team effort on every level - lets keep it up. But remember dont injure your own team in training!
