Andover u14 boys travelled to Camberley and Farnborough on Sunday and narrowly lost out in a match where they played some of their best hockey of the season. The match, which must have been scheduled by someone with no regard for the timing of the international at Twickenham, was played out in good spirits and with tremendous endeavour by both sides.
Andover scored two goals through Harry Cowan with some fine passing moves from back to front and were unlucky not to score on a number of other occasions with Rory Glover, Joshua Taylor and Jake Chadd all going close at various stages in the game. At the other end, Freddie Walkom and the rest of the Andover defence put in sterling performances and really worked to employ the tactics that have been worked on in training.
Well done guys, you played really well - we will be back on the winning side in the next game if we continue to play like this.
