Andover Girls U16 team started their season with a flourish of goals. Andover u16's are this year made up from a vary talented Under 16's and Under 14 squad. The team, who finished joint winners of the league last season are looking to build on last season with more success. Playing against a Yateley side new to the league Andover took advantage of their experience. Andover were always threatening going forward and scored very early on after with a thumping strike from a short corner from Amelia Lewis.Andover always looked threatening in attack, Anna Staines was a constant threat on the right and the skilful Evie Liddell caused problems for the defence in her first match for the U16's. In defence Andover were rarely threatened, but the defensive trio of Elizabeth Greaves, Sian Watson and Gwen Hill played very well, with Josie Taylor making a few saves. Andover made it 2-0 with a smart back post finish from Jess Gregory before Yateley pulled a goal back. Andover continued to dominated the match with further goals coming from Amelia Lewis 4, Anna Staines 2, Evie Liddell 1 and Jess Gregory 1 to make the final score 11-2 and a cracking start to the league.
